Our country is introduced as a representative model country that presents a image of the future of global cutting-edge IT environment because it is well equipped with freest and most universal IT infrastructure. International organizations including OECD, ITU, and etc have been recognizing that our country is in the highest level in the respects of high-speed internet popularization rate, embodiment of an electronic government, contribution to IT economy, and etc.

Nowadays, thanks to internet, a foundation to create various value-added has been built, a variety of new services have became a part of our lives, our economy has been vitalized through a variety of new business projects, and people's life quality has been enhanced.

Also, under the circumstance that broadcasting and communication are fused, more various services will be created,and as a motive power for national development, IPv6, RFID, and USN which are the key parts of future internet will create new IT markets and a variety of new value-added.

However, most of all, these convenient and new services should be based on safety with which protects our valuable information and reliability.

DDoS disaster that happened recently implies that a cyber crisis turns to a national crisis. For the future as well as the present, we need to prepare a counter-measure system against infringements related to fusion-combination under fusion-combination environment, and this activity will be a Korea Internet & Security Agency's important role.

From now on, Korea Internet & Security Agency will endeavor to make our country be reborn to a strongest country on internet and a safe advanced internet country, through promoting internet services, protecting information over internet, and cooperating internationally with other countries.
